Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Erasmus Mundus ECW lot 9 (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan)
On this page you can find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions (FAQ) about the EM ECW lot 9 programme.
| Q: Can I upload scanned documents myself or do I have to send them by regular mail? |

A: You can upload the scanned documents yourself, but you'll still need to send the original hardcopies by regular mail. You can upload your admission documents already during online application. Also you will have the opportunity to upload your documents in a later stage. You will receive a link to upload your documents by email after you submitted your online application. |

| Q: Where do I send the documents by regular mail (fast courier)? |
| |
A: We prefer to receive the necessary admission document by fast courier. | Q: Can I send my documents in another language than English? |
| |
A: All official documents like diploma's / course records / certificates, etc., should have their official English translation attached. This does not count for passports. |

| Q: Will I also need to send my High School diploma when applying for an MSc or higher level? |
| |
A: No, depending on the level of study you wish to follow, you submit your documents. For example: if you apply for a MSc we do not need a High school certificate, but the diploma of your university BSc level. For a PhD study we need your MSc diploma, etc. For the undergraduate studies we indeed need to see at least a High School certificate. |

| Q: Can I apply for more than one study / host university? |
| |
A: Yes, you can apply up to 2 studies or host universities. Please note that you do not need to and can not fill in separate applications for them. You apply in priority order, i.e. your first preference will be regarded as your first choice and the second preference the second choice. We will not register more than 2 options for you, and please be reminded that the final decision will be made by the Consortium which one of your options will be used, since we may get more applications than we have positions. |

| Q. What about the Language requirements!!! |
| |
A: In order to proof your proficiency in foreign languages (e.g., English), you MUST submit a language test score. Therefore, you are required to achieve an acceptable standard in an approved language test. It is important to have proof of sufficient English level of study (some universities have higher requirements than others), such as a TOEFL or British council / IELTS test. For this, we strongly recommend you to see the "Language requirements" field in the tables of the "Available fields of study" for each university before you apply! In case you need more information about the language requirements, you can contact the relevant university (listed under "Partner Universities") or see the websites of the Universities that you have applied for to study. |

| Q: Can you give me more information on your program and scholarships? |
| |
A: All information on the EM ECW lot 9 programme and its available scholarships and studies are available on our website: www.erasmusmunduslot9.eu. For information on the available Scholarships see: scholarships and accordingly you can apply through our online registration / application form at: registration More detailed information regarding the subjects of the possible studies can be found under fields of study at the online registration form! |

| Q: What do the terms Diploma, Certificate, Degree, Course record and Research topic mean exactly? |
| |
A: Diploma: proof of graduation from university (certified) Certificate: High School diploma, any sort of short course you followed, for instance an English language course (TOEFL or IELTS) Degree: your university degree, for instance BSc, MSc, PhD. Course record: a list of your grades and results of your studies. Research topic: depending on your degree; a description of the area of your interest or the title of your thesis. |

| Q: When will we hear if we get accepted or not? |
| |
A: By the end of August/beginning of September 2009. |

| Q: How do I know which TARGET GROUP I belong to? |
| |
A: Please check the following link to determine your target group: target groups Important Note: Applicants of Target group 1 (Currently registered student at a partner University / University affiliated) need to proof that they are registered at one of the partner universities! For this we need a certified document which states that you are currently registered. |

| Q: Can I use the EM ECW lot 9 scholarship to study at any university of my choice? |
| |
A: No, it is not possible to apply for a scholarship outside the programme. If you wish to apply it has to be with one of the partner universities of lot 9. |

| Q: I am a third country national, can I apply for a scholarship at one of the third country partner universities? |
| |
A: No, you cannot. The Erasmus Mundus ECW lot 9 is a mobility program between universities in the European Union and the Lot 9 countries (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan). Third country nationals can only apply for a mobility period at one of our European Union partners. |

A: Your place of residence should be filled in here. |

| Q: When should the confirmation statement have reached the coordinating institute of the consortium of EM ECW lot 9? |
| |
A: The confirmation statement should be sent to the coordinating institute of the consortium of EM ECW lot 9 as soon as possible. Please send it immediately by express mail to address mentioned in the statement. The sooner we receive it, the better. |

| Q: Should the confirmation statement be filled in by hand writing or by computer? |
| |
A: Either option is possible. Please print it, fill it in (or type it and print it), sign it personally |

| Q: Should the confirmation statement be sent by express mail, email or fax message? |
| |
A: The document should be mailed by express mail only. Send it a.s.a.p. per express mail to the surface mail address as mentioned in the statement |

| |
A: The contact details of your host university can be found on the website of the consortium. Please click the following link partners to find the contact details per partner institution. |

| Q: Should I contact the host university by myself? |
| |
A: Yes, you may contact the host university your self. |
| |
| Q: Where can I find information concerning courses, lecture dates, etc.? |
| |
A: You can find this information on the website of your host university. Please click on the following link partner universities to find the web address and contact details of the partner institutions. |

| Q: I have applied for another host university, why am I placed at another host university? |
| |
A: The selection of another host university then your preference depends on the available mobility places and study fields which are conducted in English. |
Questions concerning visa:
| Q: What is the procedure to get a visa for the host country? |
| |
A: This will be arranged by your host university. For instance this depends on the requirements for final admission of the host university and the letter of acceptance you need from your host university. |

| Q: From whom can I / will I receive a letter of acceptance? |
| |
A: You can receive this letter from your host university, depending on your final admission. |
Question concerning mobility:
| Q: When will the mobility begin? Could this also be arranged on another date? |
| |
A: The start of the mobility depends on the possibilities at your host university. The starting date however can not be later then 1st September 2010. |
Question concerning TOEFL/IELTS:
| Q: When should the results of my TOEFL or IELTS test be known to the coordinating institute of the consortium of EM ECW lot 9? |

A: The results and test score should be filled in in your online application and send together with all other required admission documents to the coordinator of the program (TU/e). | |
